![]() ![]() ![]() So basically, if I want a transparent dock, I need to disable SIP. I am wondering if after sandboxing, with SIP, Apple may be going a little too far with security.įor the record, in 25 years of working on Macintosh computers, I have been infected with a virus ONE time, and that was many years ago when I was young, a new computer user, and did something rather stupid. ![]() While I obviously understand that Apple is keen on security - and for good reason - I must say that SIP breaking both cDock and Bartender has soured me a bit on Apple's heavy-handedness. On the bright side, the menubar icon works, and the themes work as well - if I leave SIP disabled. More specifically, the colorful sidebar refuses to work at all, and the osax repeatedly asks for admin authorization in order to do certain things with cDock. Installation and use my settings (Nexus Dock): 1 install mac Sierra font 2 move theme folder for C:UsersPublicDocumentsWinstepNeXuSBackgrounds 3 move indicators for C:UsersPublicDocumentsWinStepNeXusIndicators 4 move the 234 icons for Dock folder to C: 5 in nexus dock menu click in Advanced Restore and instal settings file. There are several dock styles included and users can also. In fact, even with SIP disabled, and even though I have installed both the bundles and osax in BOTH my main library as well as my Home library - to see if I could get it to work - there are still some quirks. cdock is a small program to install a 2D dock on OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) and 10.10 (Yosemite). Despite booting into OS X Recovery mode on my iMac running 15A235d and disabling SIP, cDock refuses to functional fully unless I keep SIP disabled after the installation, and even after a reboot. However, this has not been my experience. According to a note that is included on the website, "OS X 10.11 requires that System Integrity Protection aka "rootless" be turned off during the initial install for SIMBL". ![]()
